Double Standards

Via Postsecret:

What’s with the smile at the end? Are you proud of yourself for being a selfish, smug, hypocritical cunt? What the hell gives you the right to think you can control your partner’s sexuality, especially when you partake in the activity that you don’t want him to partake in? What’s with the double standard? Why is it okay for you to watch porn, yet you’d LEAVE YOUR FIANCE if he did the same?

Answer: IT’S NOT. It’s disgusting, is what it is.

I’ve had the exact same thing done to me before. My best guess is that it’s a control issue. That’s my guess.

    Yeah. Agree totally.

The only porn usage that gets a red light from me is when it’s being used to the exclusion of having sex in a relationship. See: dude I lived with. What was funny is that apparently he was really into squirting porn — like HELLO I CAN DO THAT LIVE. Even still, that was a symptom more than the actual problem.

I can only hope that the fiance gets caught with a truckload of porn, this person dumps him swiftly and decisively, and then he (the fiance) promptly finds someone who actually respects his sexuality and needs. Imagine what the rest of their relationship must be like.

I saw this on the Sunday Secrets. It made me laugh, until I took a moment to think about it. How is it fair to ask something of your partner that you have no intention of following yourself? And really, to dictate how someone else should express their sexuality is just sooo not okay.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. People like this who have control issues and double standards really piss me off. I feel like I’ve been dealing with a lot of that lately. I also agree with TWG. The only time that I would leave someone over watching porn would be if our sex life was non-existent due to it. I am lucky enough to have someone who is chill about my sexuality, including porn. That being said, we still have sex… really good sex and that is one of the reasons why it’s totally fine by her standards.

Blah… I don’t understand people who tries to control their partner.. I just don’t get the point. Nothing comes out of it. It’s a waste of energy. I’m sure it eventually backfires as well. I don’t understand people who say they love someone, yet don’t want good things for them.
