Yesterday was our housewarming party at our new apartment, so I thought I’d share some pictures of our place. It will probably never be this clean again.
The living room is my favorite room in the house right now. We got that couch on Craigslist for wicked cheap, and it’s beautiful (even though it feel out of the back of our truck onto Route 9 while we were transporting it home).
Those curtains are Jesus’, and when I said that they maybe didn’t exactly match the room, he looked like he was going to cry. So they’re up, and I’m going to try and find a chair with that burgandy color in it to tie them into the room.
Our small but cute bathroom, complete with SAT word shower curtain. You can’t see the black and white checkered floor in this picture, but it’s awesome.
Our bedroom. We’re still waiting for the headboard to come in (it’s a pewter gray velvet-tufted headboard), and I really want to get us new lamps for our nightstands.
This room makes me super happy. I’m pretty sure it was originally the formal dining room, as there are 3 doors that lead into it: one from the kitchen, one from the hallway, and one from the living room. We’re using it as an office/dressing room. There are two closets on the wall to the left, one of which has built-in shelves to house all my shoes and one of which has all my hanging clothes. Jesus’ clothes are in that mirrored armoire and the rest of mine are in the blue dresser.
The eating area of our very large kitchen. That door leads out to our porch.
The fridge. That door goes into the office/dressing room, and to the left (not pictured) is the door to our bedroom.
The main part of the kitchen. Having drawers and cabinets and counter space is fantastic! The floor was one of the main reasons we wanted to take a look at the place when we saw it on Craigslist.
Not pictured: our back porch and guest room, which is still a catch-all right now. And what did I wear to our little shindig?
Teal American Apparel sweatshirt, purple H&M tutu, rainbow snakeskin Miss Me pumps, purple, blue, and green beaded necklace from Target.
Being able to have an apartment that we can invite friends to feels incredible. I actually feel like I’m almost maybe an adult. And that’s fucking scary!

Britni……LOVE the apartment. It’s so cute!! Your Outfit is HOT as always to. You look amazing. Kara XOXO
PS. BOB’s Discount Furniture has some cute stuff and it’s pretty affordable if you’re still looking. IKEA isn’t bad either. As for curtains and other small supplies like that I’ve got a lot of cute stuff at Christmas Tree shop.
Wow, I LOVE the checkered floors and tiles on the kitchen walls. Such a cute place, I wish I lived in it! And very cute outfit, lol.
HEY WHO IS THAT ATTRACTIVE TWO INCHES OF GIRL NEXT TO YOU?!?
The new place looks awesome! I honestly don’t think the curtains look bad. They match what look like apples on the coffee table. =) And your kitchen is awesome!! Because I love to cook, I’m a fan of awesome kitchens. Our kitchen blows and I can’t wait to get it redone. Glad you guys had a good time.
Your apartment looks amazing! It’s seriously lovely. Looking at the picture of your living room it occurred to me that another way of tying the curtains into the colour scheme (maybe as an interim measure while you look for a chair) would be to get a couple of throw pillows in the same shade, or that feature it prominently in a print.
Wishing you guys lots of happiness in your new place!
