Safety first is always needed especially with using strap on play. You never know who is going to want to enjoy your special toys. That is what I find endearing and sexy.
Hmm… try as I might, I just don’t find condoms sexy, whether on a strap on, on another toy, or on the real deal. To me, a condom is a piece of safety equipment like a harness (not that kind!) or a hard hat. It may be mildly annoying, but the consequences of not using one dwarf the inconvenience. I do feel some weird sense of social obligation to have my characters use condoms whenever appropriate in my erotic (pornographic) fiction, and I wish that condom use was portrayed more in porn.
