I’ve wanted to post this commercial for a while but have not been able to find it online. I found it, but the quality is really bad, so I apologize in advance. This woman is putting together a dresser from Ikea, and a woman (maybe her conscience? A ghost? I don’t know) tells her that now that she has so much free time on her hands due to the fact that she completed the project so quickly, she can go out of find a nice man. The conscience woman then pauses and adds, “Or woman. I don’t judge.”
It’s totally awesome. I especially like the fact that it is slipped in so casually, like it’s no big deal. You can watch a better quality version here, but it’s really tiny.
Ikea also has a commercial that shows sofa covers of various colors, followed by a voiceover that says, “Why shouldn’t sofas come in flavors…just like families?” At the last second of the ad, a family is flashed on screen. They family is composed of a teenaged Asian girl and her two dads. Fucking sweet. You can watch a small version of it here.
