Cockrings are a dime a dozen these days. Repackaged O-rings in plastic wrappers hang as impulse items at the sex toy store checkout and awkward, flimsy faux leather 9-speed snap models hang in the aisles. Cockrings come in many different materials: rubber, jelly, leather, silicone, and metal. Some have snaps so they are easily removed (called ‘quick release’) and some have a fixed diameter. They all actually get the job done well enough, but a quality model is certainly most appreciated.
The boys at Gear Essentials have some really nice models and pay attention to details. I have mentioned them in a prior post about ball weights and have only good feelings about giving them more kudos. I like a more substantial cock ring in general and they have some nice turned metal rings that are beautiful as well as functional. However, these are metal cockrings, and are not for beginners. Cockrings are described on their web site quite simply.
“As the name implies, a cockring is a hoop made of metal, leather, or rubber, that encircles the base of the penis and/or the scrotum. Once you have an erection, a cockring is used to restrict blood flow out of the penis, helping to control both erection and ejaculation. It also creates sensations of tightness and pressure that heighten sensitivity and the intensity of an orgasm. Oh yeah, one other thing: it looks and feels hot as hell!”
“Their design is uniquely male, but that’s the only limitation. Cockrings are deeply rooted in their physical context and the emotional needs of the people who use them. They are an indispensable tool for anyone seeking greater confidence, satisfaction, intensity, control, pleasure, and erotic intimacy.”
Blah blah blah they keep your dick hard.
The vein returning blood from the penis runs past the top at the base. The fit of the ring is important so one has enough constriction to maintain an erection, yet not so tight that your junk turns purple and possibly causes some damage. Too small a ring can also make coming a bit difficult, and removing it even more frustrating. The image of nuns with bad teeth has been required for me more than once when I have needed to take one off and finish what I started. Take their sizing directions in earnest and do it when you are flaccid, but not freshly out of lake superior on a cold winters day.
“THE MEASURE OF A MAN: How to guarantee a perfect fit
To fit properly, a cockring should be loose enough to get on and off easily, but a bit snug to work its magic once the blood starts pumping. To measure yourself for a cockring, take a string and slip it behind your balls and tug it up around the top of your penis (where it meets your body). Mark the string on both sides where it comes together at snugness that’s comfortable for you. Remove the string and measure between the marks. This measurement will give you your circumference, now take your circumference measurement and divide by pi (3.14). This measurement will give you your diameter or ring size.”
I wanted a ring I could wear for a while before actually using it. The secure feeling of a nice ring under your jeans when you go on a date, or just shopping at Target is enjoyable at times. Yes, I hope that comment made you look twice at the guy’s package in the checkout and wonder if he is wearing one. I noticed that the standard rings tend to slip down a bit while flaccid so I wanted something a little wider to keep it on. The Fury is the beast you want.
Almost an inch wide with a nice double ring look The Fury will hang in there till called into the game. It has a nice brushed finish and looks great as well. Being a solid piece of turned metal the ring is quite durable as is the finish against scratches, or any other abuse that might come it’s way while you unleash your own “Fury”.
And let’s face it; if you DO get called into the game, you want to make sure you perform. Try it out!
(Disclaimer: This post is not intended to be a thorough discussion of cockrings, but a review of one such product. There is much to know about types, safety and proper use of cockrings before playing. They do constrict blood flow so should be used with caution and common sense. Hopefully I will post a more in-depth overview in the future.)

Ok since you have the correct genetalia and I do not I'm asking you to explain what I cannot understand due to not being male. WHY do you measure when you're flaccid? My logical mind says that a penis gets a whole lot bigger around when erect, so how can a flaccid measurement be accurate?
I tried emailing gear essentials, but they won't respond.
Lilly,
Actually one could measure in either state. Just take that fact into account when tightening the string. Your way might be in-fact more accurate. Sizing considerations I consider are making sure it goes on easy, sufficiently tight when erect, and does not slip down when flaccid. Difficult to get all correct for every state in the same toy. For me, sizing to not slip does tend to make it too tight when erect, and sizing to ideal snugness during sex means it will not stay on after play. As a result I have rings of various diameters depending on my mood.
Thanks for the review! I will have to check these out. Recently got into cockrings and need something better then easily worn rubber ones.
