It’s no secret that I’m a fan of bondage. As someone into BDSM, I’m interested in finding new ways to be bound and new items to bind me. I’ve got wrist cuffs, ankle cuffs, spreader bars, and more, but one thing that I didn’t have was thighcuffs. I’d seen pictures of people wearing them, and not only could I see the many ways that these could be used in restraint, I thought that aesthetically, they looked really hot.
Sportsheets Thighcuffs are made of neoprene, like all Sportsheets products. Neoprene is a really soft rubber, and it has a mild rubbery smell. Washing it with cold water a few times should take care of that. They have quick release buckles, which work like strap adjusters on a backpack to tighten and loosen the cuff. They go up to 30 inches, but I have VERY thin legs, and I was a little worried that I would not be able to make these tight enough to stay in place with vigorous movement. I was able to get them tight enough, but anyone smaller than me would not. However, most people are not smaller than me, so this should not be a problem.
The cuffs have a metal ring, similar to that on a keychain, and a clasp. In order to use these cuffs with no other equipment, the clasps would have to be hooked together between the thighs, to cuff the legs together. However, turning the cuffs outward allows them to be hooked to the D-ring on wrist cuffs, ankle cuffs, or attached to rope, chains, or other methods of restraint. They also attach to other Sportsheets items, like their Bondage Bedsheets or their Under the Bed Restraint System, which we own as well.
These cuffs are really easy to put on and take off, and easy to use an clean as well. They are comfortable to wear, too. Each cuff has a Sportsheets label on it that says, “Let your body be held captive and set your fantasies free.” I find this to be a little cheesy, personally, and strikes me as something more tailored to people into mild BDSM or beginners into BDSM play. Experienced players are going to scoff at a product that says that on it; it’s pretty tacky. I can see it as trying to make a BDSM toy a little more accessible and less threatening, but I think it’s nicer without it. You can take the label off, if you’d like.
