I’m fairly skeptical of gels and creams and such when it comes to my naughty bits. They tend to freak me out a bit. But a few years ago, I remember using Good Head on my nipples and really enjoying it. You see, I have crazy sensitive nipples and the key to my orgasms is nipple stimulation. It’s almost impossible for me to come without it. And since I know from past experience that warming lubes and gels freak me out (look, if there’s a burning sensation in my genitals, it’s time for me to get tested, ‘mkay?), I went with the Kama Sutra Cooling Gel.
The box says that it “enhances female sexual pleasure,” but I don’t see why men couldn’t use this, as well. It also says that it’s latex safe, hypoallergenic, and stain-free. The gel is water-based, and if you’re someone that wants to see all the ingredients of stuff like this, here you go:
Water (Aqua/Eau), Propylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat., Polysorbate 80, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Argenine, Ornithine, Turnera Diffusa Leaf Extract, Dioscorea Willosa (Wild Yam), Root Extract, Angelica Polymorpha Sinensis Root Extract, Serenoa Serrulate Fruit Extract, Cimicifuga Racemosa Root Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Xanthan Gum, Menthol, Sodium Saccharin, Disodium EDTA, Flavor (Aroma), Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Methylparaben
Hopefully all that meant something to someone. What I got out of it is that it is not paraben-free, and the menthol is probably what creates the tingling sensation. I will say right off the bat that if you tend to be uber sensitive to sensations and products, I would stay away from this. I know that for some people, “cooling” ends up translating to “burning.” And again, genital burning? NOT SEXY! NOT SEXY!
I enjoy the fact that this product contains a “Common Sense Warning.” Like, “we’re obligated to tell you these things, but if you don’t already know them, you’re kind of an idiot. Just sayin’.” This “common sense warning” includes informing us that this product is not, in fact, “a contraceptive,” nor does it “protect against sexually transmitted disease.” Like they said, common sense. It further informs us that it should not be used while pregnant or nursing, if you’re prone to chronic vaginal infections, or have genital herpes. Okay, so the last stuff wasn’t *as* common sense.
The directions inform me that this gel is for EXTERNAL USE ONLY, and that I am to “apply a small amount to the underside of the clitoris and surrounding area, [then] massage in gentle circles until increased sensitivity occurs.” I like this product already. Anything that encourages me to massage my clit in gentle circles is A-OK in my book! However, being the rebel that I am, I chose to put the gel on my nipples first. That was alright. It was warming more than cooling, though. I liked it well enough, and I have a feeling that I would like it more if someone’s mouth was accompanying the gel. Which would be pleasant for them, too, because the gel has a slight, but not overwhelming, mint taste and smell.
From there, I decided to heed the advice given to me in the directions and put some of this stuff on my clit. OH, HAY. NOW WE’RE TALKIN’. I’m not really sure how to describe the sensation, exactly. It’s cooling, yes, but really it’s just really, really sensitizing. Like, suddenly, all toys felt a million times better and I wanted to orgasm IMMEDIATELY. AND THEN IMMEDIATELY AGAIN. I’d say that the sensation lasted 5-7 minutes or so, but reapplication fixed that problem. It didn’t really have to be washed off; it just kind of disappeared.
Something I do not recommend? Rubbing your eye before washing your hands after you’ve put this stuff on your finger. OW OW IT BURNS. Flush your eye out with water immediately, thnx. So, yeah. I liked this stuff. If warming gels are more your thing, it does come in that sensation as well. And again, if you’re overly sensitive to stuff, I’d stay away from products like this. I apparently have a clit of steel, and I’m not overly sensitive to anything. I’m not sure yet if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
I picked mine up at Fascinations, and you can, too!

I am always sort of scared of these things, like if I accidentally put too much on I’ll burn my clit off. But based on this I may have to give it a try…
