It’s hard for me to get excited about St. Patrick’s Day now that I no longer live in Boston. Boston is The Place to Be (at least in the U.S.) for St. Patrick’s Day. The whole city is rich with Irish heritage and there are pubs on every corner. Down here, it’s not that way, and so it’s hard for me to be as enthusiastic in such a different environment. I miss the parades and the drink specials and the Irishness everywhere.
The hardest dive bar to get kicked out of (I’ve managed):
Irish booze (CAR BOMBS):
And here are some pictures of one of my last St. Patrick’s Day’s in Boston. I don’t remember much of it:
It ended with me walking around the apartment topless and in knee high boots and a short green skirt in the middle of a party. Boyfriend walked in and I was so excited to see him. I smiled at him, topless in the middle of this party, and yelled, “LOOK, BABY! I’M A SEXY LEPRECHAUN!” He put me to bed.

omg i miss it so much!
I nearly pissed myself when I saw the picture of the black rose and crossroads!
It's just not the same…
My fave was being drunk and listening to the dropkick murphy's on repeat at the store. I only worked one year, all the others I'd go to class, go to a bar or two, stop by choice mart, and then head to work to hang out and drink with whoever was working until close, and then go to a house party or five until I puked.
And here I am… sick and high off cough meds… and heavily buzzed off a half glass of white wine all by my lonesome suuuucks.
Hi Britni,
I know you don't normally like strange people leaving posts but I've been a long time reader / lurker. I loved your post on St. Patrick's Day. Being Irish and living in Ireland, I always thought that New York was the place to be outside Ireland for the day. Now I can clearly see it's Boston. I've already been to NYC for 17 March, next stop Boston, thanks to your influence.
Keep up the good work. I love the blog
