I had an interview this morning for an internship at a battered women’s shelter that I am up for. I think it went really, really well and she even told me that I was the first person in her more than 5 years of interviewing prospective interns to give the correct answer to one of the questions. Squee! Thank you, women’s studies classes!
I came home to change and looked out into my backyard and just felt so good. It is beautiful here today. Cool enough to wear a coat in the morning, and nice enough to want to be outside. Weather like this makes me extremely happy. Here is what my backyard looked like at around 10 this morning:
Gorgeous, right? Since no one was home, I could take my pictures outside! Since I was feeling so good I decided to wear something that made me feel equally good but that would be warm enough for the cool weather.
I am wearing:
- Silver trench coat from Target
- Black long tee from Target
- Navy blue poofy knee length skirt from (take a guess!) Target
- Raspberry shiny stirrup tights from American Apparel
- Belt from a dress from Forever 21
- Silver quilted booties from BCBG (again)
- Large silver earrings (my favorite!)
I feel fabulous, I look fabulous, so tell me: How fucking fabulous am I?
Also, I have created a blog-centric email address, so from now on, please send any blog related questions to britisshameless at gmail dot com. Thank you kindly!

You are SO fucking fabulous! But I have to snicker at what you consider "cool" weather. Your Florida blood must be back!
Os, I am calling it cool in relation to the weather we normally have. And yes, this morning WAS cool enough for a light coat!
It makes my laugh when we visit my parents' best friends on the gulfside and they wear coats when weather is in the 60s. We are all driving with the windows open in 50 degree weather and they are bundled up like it's February in Duluth. Hilarious. How quickly the blood thins.
Simply maaaarvelous daaarling!
But I gotta tell ya that I was always told never to wear navy blue with black. So I never have. But your combo doesn't look bad. Maybe I'll try it some time.
April, I pretty much break every rule of fashion that exists. Plus, I firmly believe that all colors are neutrals. My favorite two to wear together? Purple and teal.
