Not The Best Way To Start A Conversation

On my Match profile, I mention the book Sperm Wars as one of my favorite books. If anyone has ever read the book, they will know that it is not erotica and is actually about the science of sex and how and why our bodies respond and behave the ways that they do. It takes out all psychological and sociological factors and looks at sex from a strictly biological sense. Very cool book, and if you haven’t read it yet, I suggest picking up a copy.

Anyway, this is the conversation that took place between me and a potential suitor regarding the book:

Okay, first of all, if you haven’t read the book, don’t make a comment about it because you are going to sound stupid. I mean, okay, so maybe you can ask a question about it or mention that it sounds interesting and inquire as to what it is about, but other than that, just don’t go there. Second of all, I live about 30 minutes away from him. That in no way qualifies as “far.” And lastly, I’m glad you think I’m cute, but how do you know that I’m even going to want to meet you? Our “distance” could end up being a nonissue, because you got way ahead of yourself there, buddy.
