I found this very interesting video via Holla Back NYC. A woman approaches a group of men that were catcalling at her on the street to ask why they do it and records the exchange on her phone.
What I found most interesting about it is that the catcallers seemed to understand why what they were doing was disrespectful and why it had upset the woman, yet they continue to hit on her and ask for her number, regardless (even after she discloses the fact that she has a boyfriend). Did her approach work? It doesn’t seem like it, but it is an interesting look at street harassment from the perpetrators of it.

This kinda freaks me out. I can just imagine how nervous she probably was to engage them in this conversation, and be overwhelmed by their version of reality. The end where they ask for her number — UGH.
