Back when I bought my first sex toys, I had no clue what the differences were between materials, or why that mattered. I ended up with one cheap jelly toy (ick) and one comparatively low quality silicone toy (despite claiming to be non-porous, it had tons of pores, and was really hard to clean thoroughly). After reading all those toy reviews on your blog for the better part of a year, I feel much better equipped to make good decisions about toy purchases. While at my local Good Vibrations store the other day, I bought two Tantus toys (my first) because I remembered how much you praised the quality. You're absolutely right, there's a HUGE difference between materials! There's even a huge difference between two different brands of silicone toys (the Tantus toys actually are non-porous, whereas my old Good Vibrations brand toy was definitely not). I got so excited about having NICE toys that now I'm trying to tell all my friends about the importance of paying attention to what toys are made of (and shopping at reputable stores!).
